A Police Officer was charged for the offence of driving his vehicle when not secured by a seatbelt. Late last week, Constable Aldwyn St. Hillaire pleaded not guilty to the charge.
St. Hillaire, who is attached to the East End Police Station, is accused of driving a private vehicle without wearing a seatbelt on November 17, 2011.
He was ticketed by Police Officer Job Trumpet; however, the ticket was never paid and hence, he was charged.
In court, the officer claimed that he thought the matter was going to be dealt with internally since he spoke to an Inspector of Police about the issue.
The matter will come up again in court this Thursday.
