A Police Officer was charged for the offence of driving his vehicle when not secured by a seatbelt. Late last week, Constable Aldwyn St. Hillaire pleaded not guilty to the charge.

St. Hillaire, who is attached to the East End Police Station, is accused of driving a private vehicle without wearing a seatbelt on November 17, 2011.

He was ticketed by Police Officer Job Trumpet; however, the ticket was never paid and hence, he was charged.

In court, the officer claimed that he thought the matter was going to be dealt with internally since he spoke to an Inspector of Police about the issue.

The matter will come up again in court this Thursday.

It goes to simply show no police (person ) is above the law. The Officer was spoken to several times about not wearing his seatbelt and chose to ignore all previous warnings, feeling he was ABOVE the LAW, hence the reason he was taken to court. It's not a matter of infighting as you put it !!

He just needs to plead guilty and move on to stop any further embarassment to the Police. Enough of this sillyness, of course they are not above the law, they are ordinary people..

If you were innocent would you plead guilty. whenever someone is not in a situation they will say anything. hope when your turn comes you will plead guilty even though you not guilty.
