Warriors Struggle To Keep Pace With Pythons; Home Run Derby This Weekend

The Pythons meet in the pitcher's circle

Defending women's champion, Pythons piled on the runs against West End to pick up a 14-2 victory as the 2012 Eva Simmonds Men and Women's Fast Pitch League sponsored by LIME continued last weekend.

Playing last Saturday, June 9, the Pythons amassed 12 hits, committed 2 errors and left 6 runners on base, while the Warriors finished with 3 hits, committed 7 errors and left 6 runners on base.

Pythons' run feast was led by Sheniqua Fahie who went 2 for 3 with a double, 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in and Jelisa Potter who was 2 for 4 with a double, 2 runs scored and a run batted in.

Kimesha Adams of Warriors was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 runs batted in.

The winning pitcher was Thea Cooke and the loser was Sarah Potter.

In the second game played on Saturday, the men's defending champions Hurricanes defeated VG Ballerz 5-3 behind 7 hits and 1 error. They left 4 runners on base.

Ballerz finished with 10 hits, 2 errors and left 5 runners on base.

Sheldon John of Hurricanes was 3 for 3 with a run scored and Carlos Maynard was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a run batted in.

Lee Jacobs of Ballerz was 4 for 4 with a double and a run scored and Jafreisy Hernandez was 1 for 3 with a double a run scored and 2 runs batted in.

The winning pitcher was Aubrey Frett and the loser was Milciades Jiminez.

In the final game played on Saturday, the Reds continued their impressive run this season by defeating Braves 16-2 led by Kyle LaMotta who was 3 for 4 with 2 triples, 4 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.

Reds' Pablo Rincon also contributed with 2 for 4 at bat with 2 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.

Reds struck 10 hits, committed 1 error and left 4 runners on base. Braves finished with 3 hits and punished with 10 errors and left 5 runners stranded.

The winning pitcher was Jason Fonseca and the loser was Denzil Daniel.

On Sunday, June 10, Hawks flew over ESHS Rams 21-3. Hawks had 3 hits, 3 errors and left 4 runners on base, while Rams had no hits, 6 errors and left no runners on base.

The winning pitcher was Perline Leonard and the loser was Kyana Carey.

Leonard of Hawks was 1 for 1 with 3 runs scored and 2 runs batted in.

Blue Wings failed to field a team and forfeited to East Invaders.
