BVI Swim Team Competing In Aruba

The British Virgin Islands has joined 14 other countries in Aruba for the Caribbean Islands Swimming Championships, sanctioned by the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Amateur Confederation (C.C.C.A.N.) headquartered in Barbados.
The BVI swimmers are Amara and Elinah Phillip, and Brionka Halber who will be competing in the 11-13 year old category.
This is the first time the BVI is participating in this meet and the local swimmers along with Antigua were recognized as first-time participants during the opening ceremony which was held last evening, June 22.
Competition will start this morning.
Team BVI is expected to return next Thursday, June 28 and is headed by Verne Wheatley, Federation President; Elsworth Phillip, Head Coach; and Trady, Team Manager/Coach.
